How it works

Three steps to accepting crypto

No blockchain knowledge required. If you can add a plugin to your store, you can add MakaPay.

Choose where you get paid, add MakaPay to your checkout, and payments settle to the wallet address you control
STEP 1

Choose where you get paid

Tell us where payments should be sent. You stay in control of it the entire time.

STEP 2

Add MakaPay to your checkout

Drop it into the store you already run. No rebuild, no migration, no rip and replace.

STEP 3

Payments settle to you

Your customer checks out in stablecoins and the payment settles straight to you.

Why merchants switch

Built to get you paid, not to slow you down

Payment infrastructure that works with what you already run.

Lower fees per transaction

1% + 10¢ per transaction, versus roughly 2.9% + 30¢ with traditional card processing. Your card processor's actual rate may vary. Keep more of every sale.

No chargebacks

On-chain payments are final. No reversals and no chargeback fraud to fight after the sale. It also means refunds are something you run yourself rather than something a card network runs for you.

An add-on, not a migration

Works with the checkout you already run. Go live in minutes, keep your stack in place.

You control the funds

Non-custodial by design. Each payment settles through a single-purpose contract created for that transaction, which deducts the fee and sends the balance to the wallet address you control. MakaPay never takes custody.

What it costs

Pay less on every transaction

Transactions settle at 1% + 10¢ per transaction. No monthly fee. Network gas is separate, $0 on MakaChain and a few cents on other supported chains.

Traditional card processing
~$3.20
per $100 sale · ~2.9% + 30¢
With MakaPay
~$1.10
per $100 sale · 1% + 10¢

That is roughly a third of a typical card-processing rate of about 2.9% + 30¢. Your card processor's actual rate may vary.

Fees per docs.makapay.io: 1% network fee + $0.10 per transaction, no monthly fee. Fees are subject to change, see docs.makapay.io for current rates. Traditional figure reflects typical published card-processing rates of about 2.9% + 30¢. Network gas is separate and varies by chain, from $0 on MakaChain to a few cents on major networks.

Questions

What merchants ask before they switch

Do I need to understand crypto?

No. If you can add a plugin to your store, you can add MakaPay. Your customer pays at checkout and the funds land with you. There is no market to watch and no crypto decisions for you to make. The one thing that is genuinely yours to manage is access to your wallet, and we walk through that on the setup call.

How do my customers pay?

At checkout, your customer chooses to pay with stablecoins. The payment settles on-chain and lands in the wallet address you control.

Will crypto price swings affect me?

Your MakaPay checkout accepts stablecoins, USDT and USDC, which are designed to maintain a stable value pegged to the US dollar. Under normal market conditions that means you are not exposed to the price swings of other cryptocurrencies. MakaPay's published network list includes non-stablecoin tokens on BNB Smart Chain. Those are outside the setup we recommend, and we confirm your enabled token list with you before you go live.

Who holds my funds?

You do. MakaPay never takes custody of merchant funds. Here is how settlement actually works: your customer pays into a single-purpose contract created for that one transaction, the network fee is deducted, and the balance transfers to the wallet address you control. Because you hold the funds directly, you are also responsible for securing access to your wallet. We walk through this on the setup call.

Do I need to fund anything up front?

No. Funding a fee balance is optional. In MakaPay's default setup you keep a small USDT balance that transaction fees are drawn from, which is what lets your customers pay the exact price you show while you receive the full amount. If you would rather not hold one, there is a mode that takes the fee out of the payment instead, and a mode that passes it to the customer. Any balance you do fund is separate from your sales revenue. We confirm which mode fits you on the setup call, and current fee mechanics are published at docs.makapay.io.

What does it cost?

1% + 10¢ per transaction, with no monthly fee. That is roughly a third of a typical card-processing rate of about 2.9% + 30¢. Your card processor's actual rate may vary. Network gas is separate, $0 on MakaChain and a few cents on other supported chains. See docs.makapay.io for current rates.

Which chains and tokens are supported?
